A new piece from my developing Blooming body of work, exploring growth, transformation and our connection with the natural world.
Blooming is only one moment in a much larger cycle. There is also change, ageing, shedding, letting go, and eventually beginning again.
In this piece, a squirrel’s tail transforms into autumn leaves while hourglasses hold fragments of the season, almost as if trying to preserve something beautiful before time carries it away.
The squirrel will appear again in the next work, becoming a small connecting thread between scenes as the transformation moves from animal to human.
I’m interested in what happens after we bloom: how we change with time, what we try to preserve, what we eventually have to release, and how each ending makes space for another beginning. 🍂
